INTERNAL WASHING OF THE SPRINKLER IS VERY IMPORTANT WHAT ABOUT EXTERNAL WASHING?

Washing the sprinkler after use is at least as important as its preparation before sprinkling. Even though, in the last couple of years, awareness about proper sprinkler settings and solution concentration has increased, thorough washing, especially external, is still done carelessly.

INTERNAL WASHING OF THE SPRINKLER IS VERY IMPORTANT WHAT ABOUT EXTERNAL WASHING?

Tightening legislation in the field of the use of chemical plant protection products has in recent years made it mandatory to clean the sprinkler in the field. Most often, the water-diluted residue of the sprinkling solution is re-applied to a part of the field or the area intended for this next to the field. Full and partial cleaning of the sprinklers allows the vital parts to be cleaned from the inside, thus preventing the deposition of spraying solution residues. Superficial cleaning can cause damage during the next treatment, especially in more sensitive varieties such as eg. oilseed rape. Accumulation and drying of chemical residues on smaller parts, such as filers, is especially problematic. Thus most often, we mainly pay attention to internal washing, which makes sense, but does not suffice at all. What about external washing of the sprinkler?

A very thin and almost invisible layer of residue is left on the entire sprinkler area after sprinkling. Effective washing of the sprinkler after use therefore requires paying attention to small details, such as the ends of the spraying fittings, pipes and nozzles, as well as the entire tank and chassis, pump and filter.

External washing of the sprinkler may be somewhat effectively achieved at the field by using a special set. This set includes a winding reel, which is mounted on the sprayer and contains a 25 m hose that can be used to reach both ends of the sprayer fittings. At the end of the pipe, a washing rod is fitted, and a nozzle for attaching the rod to a dedicated valve is included. The set is thus operated via a valve on the regulator, which supplies water from the clean water tank. Before starting the external washing, turn the selector valve on the control panel to external washing, and set the other valves on the sprinkler unit to the partial cleaning position of the sprinkler.  With the help of the washing rod, the jet is precisely directed to the hidden and remote parts and to the entire outer surface of the sprinkler. At this stage, it is also advisable to rinse the tractor, as it also collects debris that is carried by the wind.

Not only does external washing significantly reduce the uncontrolled chemical leakage into the environment, but it also mitigates the effects of corrosion left on the sprinkler, which extends its durability.
